Mwihaki Muraguri

With extensive experience in content creation, she crafts words and digital stories that challenge negative stereotypes while highlighting Africa's extraordinary cultural contributions

Inspired by beautiful sentences, enamoured by history, and disturbed by loose threads, mwĩhaki mũragũri is a writer, storyteller and AfroOptomist based in her hometown of Nairobi, Kenya. For over two decades mwĩhaki honed her skill in project delivery while working in public health and philanthropy, across Sub Saharan Africa. In 2017, Mwihaki founded Paukwa, a firm dedicated to using the art of storytelling to celebrate and spotlight the positive aspects of Africa’s history and contemporary life. Paukwa also supports institutions globally in telling stories of impact that showcase human progress and positive change. In the in-betweens, mwĩhaki loves getting lost in new worlds and complex characters that good books offer; never passes up a chance to explore a museum in any town or city that she travels to; and enjoys playing house with her husband and three children
